Kingfisher Wagons

Are you looking for a peaceful lakeside spot for a touch of fishing? Perhaps you just want to escape to the country for a tranquil break where you can be at one with nature and fancy staying in something a little different. We have the perfect property for you. Introducing Kingfisher Wagons- our fantastic new lakeside property set on one of our farm’s private lakes.

This set of two wagons provides guests with a luxury glamping break. Experience the joys of nature in style and comfort. This is the perfect getaway for anyone who enjoys the countryside, nature and being outdoors but still likes to relax with some home comforts too. We love dogs and will happily welcome your canine companion to our wagons.

Comprising of a traditional shepherd’s hut and a 130 year old antique workman’s wagon, both renovated to a high standard, this property is new to our farm for 2022 and looks set to be every bit as popular as its sister properties. The property sleeps two adults with an additional two children by prior arrangement. Due to the unique set up of this property and it’s waterside setting, if you plan to bring children we would like to speak to you before you book to make sure it is suitable for your needs.

Please note, each wagon has heating (one wood burner and one electric radiator) but we are in a rural location and even on the hottest days of the year, things can get a little chilly at night. We provide lots of blankets, bedding and hot water bottles so you can be cozy and snug but please bring a selection of warm clothes too, We want you to have a fantastic stay!

Relax

Relax on the wagon’s decking. Take a soak in the free standing outside copper bathtub while enjoy the beautiful views across the Surrey countryside. Inside is a cosy living room where you can snuggle up in front of a wood burning stove and enjoy food cooked in the fully-equipped kitchen or ordering in from one of the nearby restaurants. The shepherd’s hut and the antique workman’s wagon each have a double bed. If you would prefer a shower to a bath, the wagons has its own private shower room.

ENJOY NATURE

The private decking is a great place to sit and watch nature at its best. Look out for birds of prey, Kingfisher, Great Crested Newts, bats, rabbits, owls, deer, foxes and badgers, to name just a view of the creatures that call our farm their home. Take a wonder around the 90-acre farm and you will see an even greater variety of wildlife. Our hedgerows also make a perfect spot for foraging from blackberries to rosehips and even wild garlic. Bring your bike to make the most of the wide selection of bridleways in the area.

FISH, SWIM OR BOARD

Kingfisher Wagons is set waterside on one of our farm’s private lakes. If you are looking for a more active break away, make use of the lake for a spot of fishing. Stocked with common carp and pike, it is a great place to cast your rod.

If fishing isn’t for you, why not go for a swim? At the height of summer the water can be really quite warm. The Wagon also comes with its own rowing boat for those who fancy an adventure and if you want to bring your own paddle board you can.

Please note: the wagons have been popular with families but with the sleeping accommodation split between the hut and the wagon and with them being waterside, if you have younger children you may wish to have one adult and one child sleeping in each.

We booked the wagon and connecting shepherds hut for my birthday and I cannot rate this place highly enough. Tracey and Chris were so helpful when booking and even added plant based produce to the beautiful hamper that awaits you. It is stunning. When we arrived the farm was covered in snow and it looked like a winter wonderland. We asked if we could see their highland cows and donkeys and Tracey pointed us in the right direction and said just go in, which we did every day. They are stunning and so docile and friendly. Each property has a stunning lake with a boat , the copper bath on the decking was lovely, robes are provided, beautiful smelling toiletries, lots of fluffy towels. The wagon and hut have a garden with a fire pit and there are just acres of fields to walk in and just perfect if you have a dog. The sunrise was stunning on Sunday morning and I even saw a deer . I will definitely return in another season to take full advantage of that lake and boat. It is a jewel in the surrey hills and your passion reflects the care and detail in the properties.

We stayed at the Best Log Cabin recently after getting married just down the road at Gildings Barns. It was a perfect place to spend our first few days as husband and wife. A tranquil, peaceful and very beautiful location but also a gorgeous and well built log cabin. Chris was really helpful throughout our booking and postponement of stay due to Covid19 pushing back our wedding by a year. The wine and coffee hamper plus the bacon, eggs and sausages were a lovely treat! Thank you Chris, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave and we really enjoyed the sunflower field too. Highly recommend The Best Log Cabin to anyone who would like a little relaxation in an idyllic location.

We booked Apple tree cottage which has the most beautiful view, lovely accommodation and a fantastic hamper full of wonderful food. We had a fabulous break where we looked at the view from the veranda, walked, slept and ate. The cottage is the best place to relax. Thank you Chris, your farm is beautiful.

We have had a fantastic few days away staying in apple tree cottage on our mini honey moon. The hot tub and log fire were the highlights for us. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The welcome hamper is lovely and the sausages were fantastic! Waking up to the friendly highland cows and donkeys in your garden is something special. They enjoyed a few carrots! Playing scrabble and dominos by the fire was a new experience for us and we loved it. So relaxing and peaceful. Love all of the touches. The decor is just perfect. I wish we could stay longer. We will definitely be returning. Thanks Chris.

We have just had the most amazing stay in the Kingfisher Wagons. The place was immaculate with lots of lovely lovely touches. The fresh cut flowers, candles by the bath, and lovely tubbed shrubs dotted around. The scenery was amazing we were in awe. The decking area was perfect, my husband fishing and enough space for me to do some outside yoga. It was safe and secure for our dog Cody, which was well designed. It was a lovely break from the hustle and bustle of daily life and we were able to rest, relax and renew. Thank you so much for all the thought you have put in to setting up the place. 🙏🏻
